The Gite
This delightful 2 bed-roomed gite can sleep up to 7 +cot. It comprises a bright and airy living space with comfortable sofa bed, TV with dvd and wood-stove. The adjoining kitchen area is fully equipped with w/m, d/w, fridge, gas cooker and microwave, with table and seating for 6-8. The master bedroom, with double iron antique bedstead, features an exposed stone wall and the original bread-oven arch. The second bedroom, with a bunk bed and single bed has sufficient space for a travel cot (provided on demand). The shower room is spacious and luxurious. Towels and bed linen are provided and changed weekly. Outside, the patio is ideal for that leisurely breakfast in the sunshine. Part of the garden has been fenced off to allow parents to relax, without worrying where their little ones have gone, or there is a lovely area around the pool with magnificent views over the vineyards and fields.
The Pool
The 10m x 6m heated pool is designed to satisfy a family’s needs. The shallow area makes up half of the pool (1m and 1.2 m deep) and is accessed by wide, easily negotiable steps. The rest of the pool then slopes rapidly to 2.2m and gives competent swimmers the opportunity to play too. It has a rigid cover which complies with French pool security laws and gives peace of mind to parents. Surrounded by trees and shrubs, it blends into its surroundings without detracting from the wonderful views. The area around the pool is excellent for sunbathing, relaxing with a drink or to watch the sun go down. Lighting means it is great for those who feel the urge to take a late night dip.
Flora and Fauna
Les Cerisiers is an excellent place to indulge an interest in flora and fauna. Sixty different species of wild flower have been found in the meadow, with many more sighted during walks in the woods and vineyards that surround us. Buzzards, owls, hoopoes, redstarts and goldfinches (to name but a few) with their distinctive calls and plumage are frequent visitors around the gite. If you come at the right time, the woods and even our meadow, abound with wild mushrooms, but remember, never pick or eat anything you do not know is safe to eat!
